Is Creativity Still Thrilling? Understanding the Potential of Depersonalization and Objectification in the Generative AI Workplace

GAI tools like ChatGPT are transforming creative work, but at a cost. A 2024 McKinsey study found 55% of heavy GAI users experience burnout. Our study examines how GAI affects creative professionals’ psychology, particularly feelings of depersonalization – where workers feel like replaceable parts rather than individuals. We focus on creative professionals as they combine frequent GAI use with emotional rather than technical responses to these tools, making them ideal subjects for understanding AI’s psychological impact.

Dwells in Museum:
The Restorative Potential of Augmented Reality

AR technology is transforming museums into restorative spaces that can reduce visitor stress and anxiety while restoring attention. This study examined how AR enhances the museum experience beyond traditional knowledge sharing by creating immersive, interactive environments. Through a survey of 279 participants, we found that AR museum experiences effectively improved visitor wellbeing. With advances in generative AI, AR can now provide personalized experiences that expand human perception within museum settings.

Acceptance of Generative AI in the Creative Industry: Examining the Role of AI Anxiety in the UTAUT2 Model

This study explores how creative professionals view and accept Generative AI in their work. Using the UTAUT2 model and AI anxiety measures, we surveyed professionals to understand what drives their AI adoption. Results show that performance expectations, social influence, enjoyment, habits, and AI anxiety predict AI usage, while effort, facilities, and cost do not currently impact adoption. Despite experiencing AI anxiety, creative professionals generally favor using AI tools. Higher-educated participants showed more resilience to AI challenges.
